Also a popular choice for the starting point, the Workstation exam addresses many of the specifics in the Microsoft NT Operating System. Topics addressed on this exam include NT architecture, the boot process, virtual DOS machines, browsing, troubleshooting, comparing and contrasting NT Workstation and NT Server, workgroups versus domains, and other "general" areas relating to NT. Don't assume that this exam is less of a challenge than the NT Server or NT Server in the Enterprise exams. It can be quite challenging. However, I typically recommend taking the workstation exam first as it will introduce you to a broad range of topics that will facilitate the Server and Server in the Enterprise exams. (Remember my earlier advice about taking these three exams fairly close together, as they build upon one another and overlap quite a bit).
One other INVALUABLE prep-tool for the Workstation exam is the CNEQuizzer test package from CyberPass. Available at www.certify.com, it is worth every cent of the already low price. When I took the Workstation exam, it was still a standardized format. CNEQuizzer absolutely nailed this test for me. The quality of the questions is outstanding makes the actual process of sitting this exam much less stressful. Trust me on this one folks. (Yes, I am in the Amazon.com affiliate program, and NO, I have no connection to CyberPass. Simply stated, it's just that good).
