Microsoft's Exchange Server 5.5 is unquestionably the best calendering, collaboration, and email package available today. With its tremendous flexibility, comes volumes of information you'll be expected to know in order to pass this exam. Make no mistake, with the exception of SQL Server, no other exam comes close to the difficulty of this one. That being given, it's not surprising that there's relatively little information on the Internet about the Exchange 5.5 exam. Topics covered include: migration to Exchange 5.5, address space strategy, implementation and administration of public folders, implementation and administration of private information stores, connectivity to foreign mail systems including cc:Mail, MS Mail, and X.400 systems, configuration of POP3, IMAP4, Active Server, HTTP, NNTP, and LDAP protocols, configuration of the MTA, configuration of server and link monitors, and countless other topics. On the positive side, MCSEs with Exchange 5.5 as one of their electives are highly sought after in today's market. Perhaps the difficulty of this exam, in combination with the universal need for email, will continue to make Exchange Administrators a hot commodity. In any event, the understanding of the intricacies of connectivity between disparate networks gained by studying Exchange will greatly facilitate learning the concepts of other Microsoft packages. Take your time on this one, as it is a true test of your knowledge of the product.
