Many of my colleagues recommend this exam as the best starting point. It is a valid argument. The NT Server exam also introduces many "basic" concepts that are prerequisite to developing a command of NT. Topics covered on this exam include fault tolerance (including RAID), security and auditing, performance monitoring, roles of the server in an NT domain, client administration, internetworking with Novell, Macintosh, and Unix environments, migration from Novell environments, account administration, and many other important topics. As mentioned earlier, much of the content of this exam is closely tied to the Workstation and Server in the Enterprise exams. While the Workstation exam is not a prerequisite for writing this test, my personal opinion is that a solid understanding of the Workstation OS will lead you to many correct answers on this exam. In contrast, while it is certainly not impossible to pass the Server in the Enterprise exam without having already passed Server, I urge you to have a thorough understanding of the topics addressed on the Server exam before attempting Server in the Enterprise. There is a fairly obvious reason why Server in the Enterprise is commonly referred to as "Advanced Server."
